The immersive experience, Satellites II, is slated for June 3 to 7
Since 2018, Prada Mode, the contemporary cultural series has been staged across the world fourteen times. This June, they’re coming to New York City. Called Satellites II, it’s in partnership with Nicholas Winding Refn, a Danish film director known for Bleeder and Valhalla, along with Hideo Kojima, a Japanese game creator, famous for Death Stranding. The two previously partnered up on Satellites, a prior iteration of Prada Mode that took place in Tokyo back in 2025. This time around, their latest endeavor takes place at the same time as the Tribeca Film Festival with the Hotel Chelsea playing host to a three-day exhibition exploring the relationship between love, creativity, and language.
Given that Hotel Chelsea, which has been around since 1884, has a rich history, the exhibition will take advantage of its rich history, albeit with a science fiction twist. Satellites II explores the balance between private spaces and collective accessibilities, with programming that invites thought. Over the span of two days, select hotel rooms become mini television studios that showcase special performances for special attendees. As for the other three days? That’s for the public, allowing guests access to the same rooms, this time as intentional art installations. Other parts of the hotel will showcase installations around Winding Refn and Kojima’s work, spotlighting their unique friendship.
Prada Mode will also have live programming that includes talks, performances, concerts, and more. A special group of guests will have the opportunity to stay in the hotel for the first two days, turning the space into a private members’ club with dinners and celebrations. Then, from June 5 to 7th, the exhibition will also expand to other locations throughout New York City, spotlighting different installations, artists’ discussions, and more. Curious about attending?
