The model and actress stars in ARMEDANGELS’ new campaign.
Cara Delevingne has always resisted convention, so it tracks that German sustainable label, ARMEDANGELS, chose her to front its boldest DETOXDENIM project to date. Moving between fashion, film and now music, the British model and actress has made a career out of refusing to be placed in a box.
The campaign, titled Never the Expected, features Delevigne’s takeover of the brand’s fictional DETOXDENIM Lab, challenging familiar ideas about how the textile should look and be made. Shot with sleek, futuristic minimalism, the campaign balances its scientific premise with Delevigne’s irreverent energy. Dancing freely around the lab, she appears relaxed, playful and entirely herself. Beyond all the innovation, this is denim designed to move and be lived in.
Since launching DETOXDENIM in 2018, the brand has reconsidered every stage of the process of denim production from fibers and washes to how the final garment is worn, repaired and eventually resold. This season’s experiments include organic-cotton selvedge woven on traditional looms and finished with ARMEDANGELS’ signature yellow edge, replacing the customary red. The collection also expands the use of SaXcell®, an innovative lyocell fiber developed from 30% recycled cotton waste and 70% FSC-certified wood pulp. First introduced in Spring 2025, the material reduced its environmental impact without sacrificing the feel and drape that make a great pair of jeans worth holding onto.
Deep indigo washes, vintage-inspired finishes run throughout the collection. For women, styles to note include the Aalthea barrel jean, the wide-leg Enijaa and Astreeass along with the straight-cut Aikaala. The men’s offerings range from the relaxed, tapered Maakxy to the baggy Jaameo and the classic straight Maadox.
“ARMEDANGELS does things in a way most brands simply don’t,” Delevingne says. “And that matters, because you actually know what you’re wearing and how it was made.” After all, the best denim should look good from every angle, including behind the seams.
